Our History
The Fishbone Companies were initiated with the founding of Fishbone Solutions, Ltd. in 1999. Fishbone Solutions was initially formed as purely a turnaround planning and scheduling company. As we celebrate our 10th anniversary this year we are proud of the accomplishments of our organization and of the committed people who have contributed to our success. In the last 10 years we have expanded our services to include capital project management, professional safety services, field design/engineering, and other related services. Below are some of our milestones and highlights.
December 1999 – 3 business associates began meeting to discuss the merits of forming a company that would help clients perform more efficient, cost effective turnarounds. Coming to an agreement that the idea had merit, they began to meet monthly to develop a business plan and strategy.
September 1999 FB Solutions, LLC.(dba Fishbone Solutions) was filed with the State of Texas.
January 2000 Fishbone Solutions secures it’s first PO from a major refiner to assist with scheduling duties on a turnaround. From the beginning, one of our core philosophies was to be client driven. The client asked if we could assist with procurement, material management and time keeping. We expanded our service offerings.
2001 Fishbone Solutions is awarded our first turnkey turnaround. On a plantwide outage in Louisiana we provide planning, scheduling, cost control, material management and field design services with great success. Again our service offerings expand.
2002 Fishbone Solutions uses hand held devices to audit progress and update schedules on a turnaround for the first time. Working directly with the developer, Fishbone helped work the glitches out of the system and later purchased all rights to the software. This is now Fishbone’s Mobile Field Manager.
2003 FB Solutions, LLC. becomes Fishbone Solutions, Ltd. a Texas Limited Partnership. In the same year we roll out our first version of our electronic planning software. This use of this software drastically improved planning efficiency, repeatability and documentation. Fishbone continued to expand.
2004 Fishbone Engineering, Ltd. was formed to manage Capital Projects. Contracted to manage an OSBL project on a major expansion in Texas City, managed multiple engineering firms and construction companies from inception to commissioning on this $60 million project. Overall Fishbone Solutions surpasses the $500 million mark in turnarounds managed.
2005 Fishbone Solutions, Ltd. introduces Plan Load – their copyrighted planning software. This template driven software directly interfaces with multiple scheduling softwares, minimizing data entry for schedulers, errors, and duplications. This template driven software remains the cornerstone of the Fishbone Software Suite.
2006 Fishbone Safety Solutions, Ltd. is added to the Fishbone family of companies. Focused on providing professional safety management to industry, Fishbone Safety Solutions provides safety plans, safety management, and audits throughout the upstream and downstream markets.
2008 Out with the old in with the new. Setting another record year in sales volume, Fishbone says goodbye to one of the originals. As we wish him well in his new pursuits, we welcomed in a new sales manager with over 10 years in our industry and brings great enthusiasm to ushering Fishbone into the next 10 years of success.
